Tia Mia Cocktail Recipe

We are happy to present you the Tia Mia, a delightful smoky version of the Mai Tai.

The Mai Tai can be one of the most famous cocktails made with rum. This Cocktail,  which means “Out of This World” in Tahitian, was first created in the 1940s by Victor Jules Bergeron, better known as Trader Vic, in his tiki restaurant.

The Tia Mia incorporates the essence of the Mai Tai while introducing some exciting new flavors to this special cocktail.

Tia Mia Ingredients

To craft  the perfect Tia Mia cocktail, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 1 oz Del Maguey Vida Puebla Mezcal
  • 1 oz white rum
  • 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz orgeat syrup (almond syrup)
  • ½ oz orange curaçao
  • Lime or mint as garnish (optional)

Step By Step on How to Make the Tia Mia Cocktail

Follow these simple steps to create this refreshing cocktail:

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Start by adding 1 oz of Mezcal to the shaker.
  • Pour in 1 oz of white rum
  • Squeeze 3/4 oz of fresh lime juice into the shaker. Try to prevent the lime pits from falling in, you can use a strainer for that.
  • Include 1/2 oz of orgeat syrup (almond syrup).
  • Add ½ oz of orange curaçao.
  • Now, shake the ingredients vigorously until they are well combined and chilled to perfection.
  • Fill a glass with Crushed Ice.
  • Strain the cocktail into the glass.
  • Use the garnish of your choice, we recommend some mint and a lime wedge.
